Why Use The YCRA
This clinically tested approach presents a complete youth risk assessment and treatment program based on 20 years of research and collaboration with award-winning child and adolescent treatment facilities recognized for their excellence. In this program, parents and professionals will find not only a wide range of succinct and useful assessment procedures, but also highly specific, research-based, and modularized intervention approaches.
In long-term research with over 700 struggling youth, certain factors key factors have emerged that can block youth from becoming more resilient. These data-based findings, which are explained in understandable, non-technical language, form the basis of the Youth Comprehensive Risk Assessment and application (YCRA). This approach has two goals: 1) implementing individualized and comprehensive assessment for treatment planning and outcome evaluation and 2) assisting helpers to teach youth and their families how to develop a unique set of protective or buffering factors that promote thriving.
The YCRA shows how struggling youth can find motivation to work on their concerns. The YCRA provides the tools to teach youth fundamental skills to develop and strengthen their assets. Parents are offered a menu of action strategies. Professionals (e.g., teachers, nurses, therapists) too, can choose among the assessment surveys and strategies that best fit the needs of particular youths and their families. Whatever their specific challenges, parents, youth, and helping professionals will find that their efforts are greatly enriched by this scientifically-based program. The program includes:
